This exhibition presents the most precious and interesting 2007 acquisitions of the Tatra Museum art department. They were made possible thanks to the grants awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and by the Marshal Office of the Małopolska Region, southern Poland. The Museum's art department collection were enriched with 108 works of art, among which 91 were purchased.
Among the artworks on display are Leon Chwistek's drawing A Design of a Zakopane Hotel from (1920) and Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz's pastel drawing Self-portrait (1930), fifty-seven Tatra landscapes by Andrzej Wróblewski from the beginning of the 1950s, four oil paintings of Tatra landscapes by Wojciech Weiss (1898, 1899), three Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz's drawings from a series of "incredible visions" (1931) and Emil Krcha's oil painting Janosik's fiancée. Also featured are two pastel portraits of Nena Stachurska (1929, 1931) from the series of S. I. Witkiewicz Portrait Painting Firm drawings. One of the most precious and interesting Museum deposits, Rafał Malczewski's oil painting Spring (Rain) (1925-1927), a painting by Stanisław Gałek Stream in the Tatras (1911) and contemporary artists' works connected with the Tatras (Irena Trzetrzewińska-Gaj, Józef Mularczyk and Ewa Fortuna) have complemented The Museum art department core collection of Tatra landscapes.
