The Gallery of Art in Koziniec
ul. Koziniec 8, Zakopane
The exhibition has been prepared by the Museum of Literature in Warsaw and is presented in a new format at the Tatra Museum in Zakopane. It pays tribute to Stanisław Wyspiański (1869-1907), the greatest artist of the "Young Poland" movement. This exhibition presents the "Young Poland" movement through the eyes of Wyspiański to reveal the multitude of themes, moods and the motifs of this artistically rich period.
Around 100 paintings and prints have been carefully chosen from museums and private collections from across Poland. Many of them are on display for the first time. The exhibition seeks to capture the essence of Wyspiański's view of the world as well as the atmosphere of the time.

It has taken several years to choose and gather together the works on display, beautiful and valuable objects with great artistic value. These include works by Jacek Malczewski, Stanisław Witkiewicz, Leon Wyczółkowski, Józef Pankiewicz, Olga Boznańska, Józef Mehoffer, Julian Fałat, Ludwik de Laveaux, Jan Stanisławski, Witold Wojtkiewicz, Wojciech Weiss, Włodzimierz Tetmajer, Konrad Krzyżanowski, Gustaw Gwozdecki, Jan Rubczak, Edward Okuń, Władysław Ślewiński and many others.

The exhibition is organized by 'situations' and 'places', from where the artists looked at reality and for artistic inspiration. Their titles are: Written from a Backwater, Written at Dusk, Written at Night, Written from Paris, Written from the studio, Written from Italy, Written at the Foot of Wawel, Written from the Tatras, Written from Brittany, Written from Bronowice. Each section features a different theme, which introduces the viewer to the artworks, rarely seen photographs from the period, and excerpts from artists' letters. In this personal and intimate exhibition visitors will have a unique opportunity to explore the 'spaces' of Young Poland and look deep into 'Young Poland's "naked soul"'.
